We are not a Johannesburg studio – our studio is in the Garden Route – but a meaningful share of our client base is in Gauteng. This page is honest about how that works.
Johannesburg has the largest concentration of agencies, holding companies and in-house creative teams in the country. The dominant shape is the full-service agency built for FMCG and corporate retainer relationships. Excellent work, real infrastructure, and a cost structure built for budgets a meaningful step above what most growing businesses are working with. The middle of that market is under-served – growing businesses with serious ambitions but without the budget for a Sandton retainer. That is the shape of work that fits us well.
Most of the work runs remote and Joburg clients report that as a non-issue once they see it does not depend on someone being in the room every day. We travel up two to three times a year for the projects that warrant it – kickoffs, shoots, launch moments. Same-day trips are easy on the early George flights.
How remote work runs
For Johannesburg clients: kickoff workshop (Zoom or in-person if you'd like), weekly written updates, async Loom and Figma reviews, milestone presentations with the decision-maker, on-site visits for shoots or workshops that need physical presence.
We travel up two to three times a year for the projects that warrant it. Same-day Joburg trips are easy from George with the early flights. Most Joburg clients see us in person at kickoff and then for the project's launch moment.
